• Check all Word cross-references are correctly converted to FrameMaker cross-references.

Graphics Conversion Add-on

Convert Pasted Graphics to Import by Reference. Assumes all graphics available in separate file.

After performing Advanced or Complete conversion, build TOC and Index. Assumes template has TOC and IX formats.

Custom Work

Perform services as needed, such as:

• Recreate screen captures.
• Correcting table conversion errors and Applying table formats from the template. Since Word does not have Table Formats, there is no automatic method to map Word tables to specific FrameMaker Table Formats. This is a manual process; the time required to complete the correction and formatting task varies depending on the number of tables in the source document and number of FrameMaker Table Formats to which tables must be converted.

In addition to the Complete conversion, build TOC and Index, ensure all paragraphs use correct Paragraph and Character Styles.

Some important notes:

• FrameMaker has more flexible and powerful formatting choices than Word. When a FrameMaker document is converted to Word, some formatting is lost. For example, Word does not support FM sideheads.-
• Word does not support FrameMaker cross-references well. Some reconstruction may be required.
• FrameMaker is designed to handle long, complex documents with lots of graphics easily. Long Word documents can become unwieldy, and may crash often
• Word cannot easily generate a TOC or Index for separate documents
