Client and Project List |

This is a partial list of projects we've completed. SynopsysWhen Synopsys acquired two companies, they turned to us to convert the newly acquired product document libraries from Word to FrameMaker. We performed a test conversion to show them how our conversion service worked. After reviewing the test conversion, the technical lead stated, "The conversion from variant paragraph style to conditional text is just what we needed...I am pretty impressed with the result." We went on to convert twelve volumes of documents, a total of over 550 documents, on time. AT&TWe wrote the operations, administration, and maintenance manual for AT&T's first software application for their AINet switch platform. The software engineers liked the way we described the application’s operation so much that they revised the way it worked to match how we described it. In addition, the usability group nominated our user guide for an internal AT&T award, which we won! Dynamics Research CorporationWe created a template and wrote a user manual and reference guide. Despite unsuccessful initial field trials, our client’s product was selected by a large telecommunications corporation on the strength of the documentation. Needless to say, our client was thrilled that their product was chosen without a working prototype. FreightlinerThis client’s publishing system was breaking down, so we suggested using structured documents. We created an EDD and structured thousands of pages of unstructured content. One of the project managers stated that we were the first company to accurately represent their company’s data despite numerous attempts by other more expensive, high-powered consulting firms. Lockheed MartinWhen faced with a daunting task of converting legacy Interleaf documents to SGML, Lockheed Martin contacted us. We provided consulting and customized training so their users could convert thousands of Interleaf documents to FrameMaker, add structure to the FrameMaker documents, and then export them to SGML. To use FrameMaker as a conversion utility, we created a custom DTD and EDD, structured applications, and conversion tables. We then created a customized course and trained their users to perform the tasks we had just perfected. Multipoint NetworksPrior to our work, Multipoint Networks had relied on engineers to author user guides. Multipoint was rolling out a new product and wanted a quick start guide to explain how to set up a packet radio network, using X.25 protocol. They had a 90-day deadline. Not only did we complete the project within the deadline, but our writer was given a company award for the quality of the work delivered. PixelworksDue to an unexpected change in schedules, our client needed an expert writer to assume the responsibilities of a complex content reuse project. In four days, our writer was performing tasks that had taken the client’s writer four years to learn. QsentQsent wanted to use one set of documents for both printed documentation and for online context-sensitive help systems for their PDA-based software application. We created a structured document solution that allowed them to easily reuse their content for print and to output to XML, which was used in their help system. Software Development Systems, Inc.SDSI wanted to upgrade their documentation system because the document set was growing, and their existing system was too cumbersome for inexperienced users to master. We designed templates and converted their content to FrameMaker. Timberline SoftwareTimberline had pure XML and wanted to use it for both print and help systems. We created a structured application to convert their XML to structured FrameMaker documents. This allowed authors who knew FrameMaker to create and modify content and to output the FrameMaker documents back out to XML for use in the help systems. To the delight of our client, we completed the project ahead of schedule and below our projected cost. |
